Nintendo's UK listing has made Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 feel much less like a rumour and much more like a real Switch 2 date on the calendar. It names Nintendo Switch 2 as the system, Activision as publisher, and October 23, 2026 as the release date. Players searching for details around Bot Lobby MW4 will probably notice the same thing straight away: there's a confirmed platform listing, but a lot of practical stuff is still missing.
  • Switch 2 release date is listed as October 23, 2026.
  • Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ are the only named pillars so far.
  • Pre-orders, editions, file size, cross-play, and 60FPS support remain unconfirmed.

The Nintendo page is useful because it gives us a clean starting point. It says "System: Nintendo Switch 2," not the original Switch, not cloud play, and not some vague future platform. That matters. Still, the page isn't a full store page yet. It says the game isn't available to purchase on Nintendo's website, and the player count is marked as TBD. The age rating is also TBD, so there's no confirmed ESRB or PEGI detail from this listing. GamesRadar's Switch 2 calendar repeats the same October 23 date and says Infinity Ward has confirmed the Switch 2 launch, though that extra hardware talk should be treated as single-source context for now.

The campaign pitch is surprisingly direct. North Korea launches a full-scale invasion on the Korean Peninsula, and the conflict threatens wider global stability. That gives Modern Warfare 4 a large war footing from the start. The listing mentions trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters fighting in New York, fast chases through Paris, SAS night raids in Mumbai, and assaults to retake occupied territory. You can picture the shape of it already: heavy front-line combat, then tighter urban work, then the more cinematic stuff Call of Duty loves. What we don't have are names. No Price, no Ghost, no Soap, no Makarov. Not yet.

Multiplayer is described as grounded and precise, with fluid movement and more control over each fight. That sounds promising, but it's not the same as a feature list. There are no confirmed maps, modes, player counts, ranked details, Gunsmith notes, perks, killstreaks, or split-screen information. DMZ is in a similar spot. The mode is described around off-the-books operations behind enemy lines, with extraction runs where you choose objectives, secure what you can, and decide when to leave. That points to a proper risk-and-escape loop, but squad size, PvP, AI factions, inventory rules, and seasonal wipes haven't been confirmed.

Right now, the Switch 2 version has more confirmed identity than confirmed detail. Nobody has shown a reliable frame-rate target, so 60FPS is still an open question. There's no file size, no preload date, no beta window, no edition names, no price, and no pre-order bonus. Cross-play and cross-progression are also unconfirmed. Zombies is another big search topic, but the Nintendo listing only names Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ. For anyone comparing modes, performance, or even cheap Bot Lobby MW4 services before launch, the smart move is to wait for direct publisher details instead of filling the gaps with guesses.
